ITANAGAR, Nov 17: Minister for Urban Development, Municipal Administration, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs etc. Kamlung Mosang today called on Governor Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) here at the Raj Bhavan to brief him on the progress of developmental works currently under implementation in Vijoynagar, one of the remotest administrative centres of the state.
The Governor, who has been keeping track of the progress of Miao-Vijoynagar road restoration works which is now a part of the Pradhan Mantri Garmin Sadak Yojana, emphasised on its completion within timeframe for the welfare of locals, Ex-Servicemen and conservation of the treasured flora and fauna of Namdapha National Park and Tiger Reserve. Besides playing a catalytic role in promoting tourism, the road carries an enormous importance in terms of national security, he said. Reiterating that the rain-free months of November, December, January and February are ideal for completing maximum portions of works, the Governor asked the Minister to make sure the road is made functional without further delay.

While advising the Minister to ensure adequate availability of basic commodities for far-flung areas like Vijoynagar through proper monitoring and fraudulence-free practices, the Governor said that the supply chain of essential items which has been disrupted due to COVID pandemic can be revived through Atma Nirbhar initiatives particularly in such remote places. He also opined that BSNL and APEDA should pay special attention to such remote areas for providing communication and electricity facilities. Stressing on resumption of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan activities while maintaining COVID SOPs in urban areas, the Governor said that the ICR must set examples of cleanliness for other towns of the state.
The Minister assured the Governor on continuance of socio-economic development in the state and the duo decided to review the matters after a fortnight for further course of action. PRO Raj Bhavan
