ITANAGAR, Aug 5: The Security Adviser to GoAP Major General S.C. Mohanty, AVSM called on Governor Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) here at the Raj Bhavan on Wednesday.
It was a courtesy call by the Security Adviser after taking charge of the post. The Governor while sharing his concern about the overall safety and security of the state, particularly in the Eastern districts of Changlang, Tirap and Longding (TCL), asked him to study the ongoing insurgency problems there and advise the state government accordingly so that appropriate counter-insurgency steps can be taken.
The Governor said that militancy which has adversely affected the livelihood of the state’s people needs to be curbed and stressed on taking steps to ensure blocking of extortion activities carried out by the insurgents on the local population at any cost.
The Security Adviser briefed the Governor about the state’s current security status during the meeting. PRO Raj Bhavan
