ITANAGAR, Jul 21: State Education Minister Er. Taba Tedir accompanied by Secretary Education Niharika Rai called on Governor Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) here at the Raj Bhavan on Tuesday to discuss about girl students’ admission in Sainik School, Niglok.
The Governor while expressing gratitude to the Central government and the Sainik School Society for approving the proposal of admitting girl students in the school said that education of the girl child raises the standard of living in economic, social and health terms. He advised the Minister and the Secretary to ensure admission of girl students in the coming academic session starting April 2021 and exhorted the state’s girl students and their parents to avail the opportunity. The Governor further emphasised that basic facilities, particularly infrastructural must be provided by the Sainik School authority so that all students especially the girl students can have the opportunities to imbibe good education, discipline and sports competence.
Earlier, the Education Minister while informing the Governor that Central government has approved admission of girl students to Class VI at Sainik School from 2021-22 academic session, also briefed him regarding the steps taken by the State government in the education sector after the Covid-19 pandemic such as online classes and others.
Inaugurated on September 11, 2018, the Sainik School at Niglok aims to shape the state’s young boys and girls, both academically and physically for joining the National Defence Academy. PRO Raj Bhavan
