ITANAGAR, Mar 13: Governor Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) has extended his appreciation towards those involved in 'Operation Ganga' launched by the Indian government to bring back all Indian students and citizens to the country from Ukraine. He thanked the evacuation team as the last Arunachali student reached New Delhi on Saturday.
On behalf of the people of Arunachal Pradesh, especially the parents and the State Government, the Governor expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju, officers of the External Affairs Ministry, and Arunachal Bhavan, New Delhi for their coordination and prompt actions at his request as the Ukraine crisis started.
The Governor suggested for setting up of a permanent cell in the State Higher Education and Technical Department to record and monitor Arunachal students' details pursuing higher studies abroad so that their welfare is always promoted by the State. In the hours of crises also, this cell will be an effective medium in coordination, he opined.
