ITANAGAR,  Apr 11:Governor Brig. (Dr.) BD Mishra (Retd.) appealed to the people of the State to get themselves vaccinated against COVID-19 at the earliest in the vaccination booths. He called upon all the citizens of 45 years and above to go for vaccination in the ‘Tika Utsav’, which has been launched from April 11-14.
The Governor also advised the people to maintain COVID-19 Pandemic protocols even after vaccination. Reiterating the Prime Minister's appeal, he said that our mantra is ‘Dawai Bhi – Kadai Bhi’ and we should stick to it at all costs.   
Responding to recent spike in COVID-19 positive cases in the country and in the State, the Governor called for people's participation and adherence to COVID-19 safety and health protocols. He said that the yearlong battle against the pandemic has led to fatigue in the system. We need to tighten and strengthen our effort in implementing the COVID-19 Pandemic protocol, he stressed. The Governor reiterated his appeal to the people to wear facemask, wash hands frequently, and follow social distancing by practicing ‘Do Gaj Ki Doori’ i.e. distance between two people of minimum 6 feet must be observed at every place including offices, shops, streets and other public places of interaction. He also cautioned the people against spitting in the open.

Commending the health department for creating awareness about the vaccination, the Governor said that it is due to dedicated, sincere and proactive effort of the frontline workers, particularly the medical officers, nurses and paramedics posted in urban and rural areas that large numbers of people are coming forward for the COVID-19 vaccination.
Once again I appeal to our people to go for vaccination against COVID-19 Pandemic, the Governor said.
