ITANAGAR, Nov 26: Constitution Day, commemorating the 70th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India was observed all throughout Arunachal Pradesh along with the rest of the nation with solemnity.
Governor Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) participated in the celebration here at Dorjee Khandu Auditorium of Legislative Office Complex and appealed the people to resolve to live up to the ideals of the Constitution. While complimenting the Speaker of Arunachal Pradesh State Legislative Assembly Pasang Dorjee Sona and his team for organising the maiden event, Governor expressed hope that it will create awareness, values and importance of the Constitution. Highlighting the Fundamental Duties, he said that to remain strong, sovereign and developed as a nation, ideals of the Constitution must be respected. Sharing his vision for the way ahead, Governor advocated for the ‘One Nation, One Constitution’ concept and commended the abrogation of Articles 35A and 370, which he termed as draconian. 
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Speaker Pasang Dorjee Sona, Deputy Speaker Tesam Pongte and Former Secretary General of Lok Sabha G.C. Malhotra shared their views on the occasion. Governor also gave away prizes to the winners of the debate competition titled ‘Abrogation of Article 370 of Indian Constitution’ organized by the office of the Legislative Assembly. Mige Kambu from Rajiv Gandhi University won the 1st prize, Kanchan Dui also from RGU won the second prize and Khyoda Yaluk of Arunachal Law Academy won the 3rd prize. Ministers of the State Cabinet, members of Arunachal Pradesh State Legislative Assembly, officers and students attended the programme.

Constitution Day was observed by Regional Outreach Bureau here at Vivekananda Central School attended by the Chairman of the school Suresh Babu, Principal Rajmohan, teachers & students.  
Director ROB while elaborating on the composition of Indian Constitution advised all to abide by it and promote harmony and spirit of brotherhood amongst people transcending religion, linguistic and regional and sectional diversities. Meanwhile staff and officials of ROB were administered the pledge of Constitution Day under the Chairmanship of Director, Dr. H.R. Keshavamurthy. Essay competitions were organized at Government Residential School, Dahung, West Kameng, K.V. School, Aalo, St. Mary National School, Mirbuk, East Siang, Government M.E. School, Shyro, Tawang district, Government Secondary School, Tezu and at Parshuram Kund by the respective Field Outreach Bureau.
Rajiv Gandhi University celebrated Constitution Day here at its varsity campus which was attended by Registrar Professor Tomo Riba, Deans of Faculties, HoD’s, officers, faculty, staff members and students.  
Nodal Officer of the programme Dr. David Gao said that the university is observing the day at the call of the
Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) for the first time and will be celebrated annually from now onwards. VC Professor Saket Kushwaha in his message conveyed his greetings on the occasion and appealed the university community to uphold the principles of the Constitution in letter and spirit. Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Amitava Mitra spoke about the importance and uniqueness of the Indian Constitution and read out the Preamble while Tasso Sumpi, a 3rd Semester of English Department read out the Fundamental Duties. As a part of the celebration, an essay competition on the topic 'Constitution of India: Understanding the Objectives and Goals' was also held in the Department of Political Science. A live telecast of digital exhibition on 'History of Constitution Tour of India' organised by parliamentary museum and archive was also screened at the function.  
The day was observed in East Siang district through  reading of the Preamble to the Indian Constitution in all government offices, educational institutions and Anganwadi Centres.
