ITANAGAR, Apr 10: With Covid cases gradually rising in Arunachal Pradesh, Governor Brig. (Dr) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) has appealed to the citizens to follow all SOPs religiously and those above 45+ to get vaccinated during the Tika Utsav scheduled on April 11-14.
Covid-19 has once again lifted its ugly head in the country and in Arunachal too and although the state’s people have been lucky to be guarded well against the deadly virus, it’s now time to remain extra careful and exercise self-protection against the second wave, the Governor said in his message on Saturday. He recalled Prime Minister’s April 8 conference with the Chief Ministers of states/UTs wherein he urged for sticking to SOPs, maximising testing in confinement zones and participation of all 45+ individuals in the Tika Utsav. While calling upon the citizens, frontline warriors, doctors, paramedics and security personnel to take the challenge seriously, the Governor stressed on the urgency to defeat the pandemic in the state at the very onset of the second wave. Wishing safety for all, he requested the Deputy Commissioners and officials to lead the district-level fights against the virus.
“Myself and the Chief Minister are always with the people of the state and we will do everything possible to ensure their safety,” the Governor's message read. PRO Raj Bhavan
