ITANAGAR, May 5: Governor Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) today reviewed the state’s Covid situation with Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Health Minister Alo Libang here at the Raj Bhavan.
Sharing his deep concern over the mounting number of daily cases in the state, the Governor emphasised on immediate rollout of appropriate actions to contain the spread. While proposing for appointment of a dedicated officer who would coordinate amongst all stakeholders regarding vaccines, oxygen provisions and other medical requirements, he emphasised that Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police  and District Medical Officers must be kept in loop on a daily basis regarding all decisions and action plans to counter the pandemic. Besides strengthening health infrastructure, strict measures may be taken to curb the spread of rumours about vaccines and every citizen has to be motivated to take utmost precautions to cope up with the Covid threat, the Governor said. 
The Governor also informed that in response to the request he made to Army Commander, Eastern Army Command, Kolkata Lt. General Anil Chauhan to provide medical assistance including oxygen to Arunachal Pradesh in case of medical emergency, Lt. General Chauhan has assured to provide all-possible assistance to the state.  Khandu apprised the Governor that 8 oxygen plants have been installed in the state and 11 more are in the pipeline to meet future oxygen requirements and more oxygen cylinders are being procured.
Earlier, Principal Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Dr. Sharat Chauhan briefed the Governor about the state’s latest Covid status. Commissioner-cum-Secretary to CM Sonam Chombay, Secretary, Health & Family Welfare P. Parthiban and State Nodal Officer (Covid) Dr L. Jampa participated in the discussion. PRO Raj Bhavan
