ITANAGAR, Aug 9: The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh advised the State Information Commission to conduct awareness campaigns on Right to Information Act through state level workshops or seminars in the districts, sub divisions circles levels, so that the common people can fully utilise their rights. He also cautioned against misuse of the benevolent provision by unscrupulous elements.
State Chief Information Commissioner Rinchin Dorjee along with Information Commissioners, Goto Ete, Genom Takseng, and Gumjum Haider called on Governor Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar today where the latter said this. The Commissioners briefed the Governor on the State Information Commission and also apprised him on its challenges.
Mishra suggested measures to strengthen the State Information Commission. He expressed his hope that this constitutional office will assist in restraining corruption in public offices.
