ITANAGAR, Jan 5: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) participated in the 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' Camp of the National Cadet Corps at Rajiv Gandhi University, Rono Hills, Doimukh today. The ten-day camp, which started on December 28 last is being conducted by NCC Group, Tezpur under the aegis of Additional Director General, NCC North Eastern Region.
In his address to the National Cadet Corps, the Governor advised the cadets to have a mission to be a good citizen. For that, he said, that the cadets must be disciplined, environmentally conscious, hard working and have a humane approach to every challenge in life. NCC Cadets must prepare to excel in every undertaking by virtue of disciplined approach, the Governor said.
Underscoring the purpose of the 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' NCC Camp, the Governor urged upon cadets, who are from the north eastern region to contribute towards the development of the nation and north east.
The Governor urged the cadets to be entrepreneurs and become job providers instead of looking for employment. Referring to the ‘Agnipath Scheme’ as an opportunity for the youth, he cautioned against violence and disorderliness.
Vice Chancellor, RGU, Prof Saket Kushwaha, Additional Directorate General, NCC Directorate North Eastern Region, Major General Gagan Deep, and Group Commander, NCC Group Headquarters, Tezpur, Brig SS Gill, also participated in the programme.
588 NCC cadets, four Army Officers, 14 Associate NCC Officers, 26 NCC Instructors from Army, Navy & Air force and 12 administrative support staff were part of this 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' Camp. The cadets are from seven sister states of Northeast belonging to eight NCC Groups under NER Directorate.
