Itanagar, Aug 5: The government will handhold entrepreneurs and guide them to ensure they don’t face any hurdle, said Commissioner Planning, Prashant Lokhande speaking at a webinar.
 
 As a measure to encourage youths to take up entrepreneurship, a webinar on ‘How to avail loan from Bank' was organized by the Department of Planning in collaboration with State Bank of India, under ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat'. The webinar aimed at assisting all those entrepreneurs facing hurdles in getting Capital Investment.
 
Commissioner Planning, while acknowledging that its time to move beyond government sectors and take up entrepreneurship, encouraged all the young entrepreneurs of the state who have been risking it all to start something of their own.
 
The Assistant General Manager, SBI, Dibrugarh branch, Samit Baruah, explained in detail the procedures and formalities of availing loan from the bank. He highlighted various schemes of State Bank that aimed at various categories of Entrepreneurs. There are specific loan products for enterprenuers like Swalamban, Stand Up India, Mudra schemes etc. Other loan products for contractors, existing traders, agri enterpreneurs were discussed in details.
 
Arunachal Chamber of Commerce & Industries, General Secretary, Toko Tatung requested SBI to prioritize Kishore and Tarun loans under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana as these are small loans that the trading community will be looking at. He also mentioned that as per standing instructions  all branches of SBI must give loan to one ST entrepreneur mandatorily, which would immensely help youths here. He also requested the banks to focus on retail trading loans.
 
Secretary Planning, Himanshu Gupta informed that there is a need of greater collaboration between district administration, banks and enterpreneurs to usher economic development under Aatm Nirbhar Bharat. He informed that such webinars will be held on regular intervals and a robust mechanism shall be framed by Planning department to monitor bank loans availed by Arunachalis. 
Secretary Industries Hage Tari also focussed on need of having greater synergy between industries and banks so that industries can revive the economy by creatinf adequate supply of products in the market.
5 Entrepreneurs from each district also took part in the webinar. It was also streamed live on Arunachal DIPR page which witnessed viewership of more than 1300 people. Banks will play a key role in reviving the economy during Covid crisis. More such meetings shall be arranged in future. DIPRO
