The erstwhile NEFA (North East Frontier Agency) was named as Arunachal Pradesh and declared as Union Territory at Ziro, the headquarters of undivided Subansiri on 20th January 1972 by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Gracing the Golden Jubilee celebration of the State’s Foundation Day at Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr BD Mishra greeted the people on the special occasion and paid tribute to the forebears of the State who contributed to the progress and development of the State.
