AALO, Aug 3:Chairman APEDA and MLA Aalo East, Jarkar Gamlin today handed over government relief to the tune of Rs. 50 Lakhs, Rs. 20 Lakhs contributed by the Chief Minister Pema Khnadu; Rs. 10 Lakhs contributed by Union MoS Kiren Rijiju and Rs. 3.7 Lakhs from his side to the Tadin fire victims.

The West Siang Unit of Galo Welfare Society President Dr. Nyage Geyi also handed over a sum of Rs. 58,100 and HoDs of the district also handed over relief in cash and kind collected from their sides. The Galo Ane of Aalo also distributed clothes to the victims.
Addressing a small gathering at the incident site, Gamlin stressed on certain regulations to contain such fire mishaps in his constituency and stressed on avoiding combustible house construction materials and to maintain required distances while constructing houses. He also assured to look into construction of RCC Community Dere for the village and appealed people to keep space for entry of fire tenders.

Spelling out the message of Chief Minister who could not turn up to meet the fire victims due to bad weather, he exhorted the people to come out of the tragedy and start the rehabilitation process.

The DC Gamli Padu assured to depute one administrative and police officer under the supervision of ADC Aalo to prepare the documents lost in the fire.  Niken Lollen retired ADC, HGB and other PRI members extended their gratitude to MLA, DC, HoDs, Army, ITBP, Police, Political Parties, NGOs, Unions, CBOs for standing by the people in the hour of crisis.
The Indian Army is continuing its medical services in the village from day one. The DMO has also distributed medicated mosquito nets to the fire victims.
