TAWANG, Jan 22: As part of the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination in Tawang district, frontline workers were administered with the first dose at CHC Lungla and PHC Dutongkhar today.
At CHC Lungla 75 beneficiaries and at PHC Dutongkhar 25 were vaccinated. ADC Lungla Tashi Dhondup was the first person to be administered with the dose at CHC Lungla along with 99 other beneficiaries in the sub-division. MO CHC Lungla Dr Tsering Penjor and Dr Hage Sambyo were also vaccinated. DRCHO Dr Lobsang Tempa oversaw the conduct of the vaccination. Dr Penjor informed that the next round of vaccination will be held at PHC Jemeithang soon.
Frontline workers to be covered in the ongoing vaccination process include doctors, CDPO, nurses, ASHAs, Anganwadi workers and helpers and supervisors of ICDS Department. Meanwhile, the District Task Force meeting on the first phase of Covid-19 vaccination and AEFI in Upper Siang was held in Yingkiong on Thursday under chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Tapar Pada.

Detailed discussion was held on the management of AEFI cases in the district and hands-on training was provided by DRCHO Dr Andeng Sitek to the medical staff. Despite 100% Covid vaccination in the first phase no serious cases of AEFI have been reported from the district so far. 
Congratulating the Health Department for launching the vaccination drive successfully, the DC asked the PRI members and NGOs for collaborative participation to achieve the same result in the second phase. DIPRO
