Seijosa, Feb 5: The Pakke Wildlife Sanctuary & Tiger Reserve Division in collaboration with Nature Conservation Foundation (NCF) conducted a three day training cum workshop on “Capacity Building Training on Research Methods and Techniques in Hornbill Monitoring” for frontline staff of the division at Seijosa Pakke Tiger Reserve which concluded today.
The Forest Department in collaboration with NCF along with local nest protectors have been monitoring hornbills for the last two decades in and around Pakke Wildlife Sanctuary & Tiger Reserve, which has resulted in the successful fledging of hornbill chicks from 2012-2022.
This is the first of its kind training cum work-shop being conducted especially for the staffers of the reserve.
30 participants from all three ranges of the division -- Seijosa, Tippi and Rilloh attended the workshop.
Through, this workshop frontline staff of Pakke Wildlife Sanctuary & Tiger Reserve stationed at remote Anti Poaching Camp deep inside the forest will be equipped with technical knowhow, for better monitoring of the majestic bird Hornbill, said DFO Satyaprakash Singh, Pakke Wildlife Sanctuary & Tiger Reserve.
