RONO HILLS, Feb 5: As a part of the daylong celebrations to mark the occasion of Rajiv Gandhi University’s 38th Foundation Day, a friendly Futsal match was organized between the teaching and non-teaching employees of the university on Thursday.
The non teaching team under its association banner RGU Employees’ Association as RGUEA team took on the team of RGU Teachers’ Association, namely RGUTA team. With two goals from the boot of Solung Sonam the RGUEA team edged past the RGUTA team in an exciting nail biting game with a margin of 2-1 goals. Scores of soccer lovers enjoyed a classy futsal match. The lone goal for the teachers’ team was scored by their captain Dr. Anil Mili in the second half.
In the sidelines of the game, an elated captain of the winning team of RGUEA and the Joint Registrar of RGU Dr. David Pertin said the match was organized to instill a spirit of camaraderie among the university fraternity and infuse some fun in the celebrations.
