ITANAGAR, Jul 24: After a day’s gap, new Covid cases in the state again surpassed the recoveries and with a single casualty, death toll has now reached 213.
Casualties
A 48-yr old male Covid patient from Changlang district who was not suffering from comorbidities and was not vaccinated died today at a private health clinic in Dibrugarh due to Covid pneumonia and cardio-pulmonary failure.
Recoveries, New Cases, Sample Collection
Of the 515 new cases recorded on Saturday (asymptomatic 297; symptomatic 218), with 139 (positivity rate 13%) ICC maintained the status as the top Covid-infected district followed by Lohit (85), East Siang (39), West Siang (34; 10% positivity) and Papum Pare (30).  
Of the total 406 new recoveries on the day that took the state’s overall count to 41025, the first 5 districts were ICC (106), Lohit (46), Papum Pare (26), East Siang (25) and Changlang (24). 6878 samples were collected from across the state on the day with the highest from the ICC (1092).      
Vaccination
Under the '18 years and above' age category, 3128 took their 1st jabs (coverage 62% so far) and 2895 their 2nd (15% coverage so far).
Occupancy status
At DCH Chimpu it was 57, at SQF Lekhi 35, Nil at DCHC Midpu, 8 at DCH Pasighat and 26 at DCHC as of July 24 (8 pm).
Containment Zones
The number of containment zones in the state after further  reduction is now 57 and the total number of Covid positive cases in such zones is 1010.
