ITANAGAR, Aug 18: The All India Arunachal Students’ Unions’ Federation (AIASUF) has launched a free mega helpdesk to counsel the state’s students yearning for higher education, particularly those seeking admissions outside Arunachal Pradesh.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, AIASUF Founder-Chairman Likha Akash informed the helpdesk would involve senior students currently pursuing education in different states so that a better understanding of the educational institutes can be provided to the aspirants. “Former and current students from the institutes with support from the All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) will generate awareness about the colleges and universities, share their fee structures, affiliation, infrastructure, scholarship, environment and other necessary details,” Akash informed. “The helpdesk will not charge any fee for counselling,” he said, asking students and parents to be wary of anyone seeking fees in the name of AIASUF.
This, he said, would also help the students and their parents in getting correct information and filter the genuine agencies and brokers from the dubious ones. AIASUF has also invited genuine agencies that give professional and credible services to help the state’s students in the admission process and submit documents for self-authentication along with detailed information of educational institutions they will be consulting for, so that counter-verification can be made by prospective students and their parents with the Directorate of Higher Education and other mandated authorities. The federation made it clear that if the agencies and brokers provide distorted facts about educational institutes, legal action would be initiated by them.
“Telephonic consultations have already begun and a physical helpdesk will be set up at the NEFA Building of the AAPSU within the next few days,” Akash informed. AIASUF Coordinator Secretary Longdom Kame divulged that they will be reaching out to all the district students’ unions for assisting aspirants based outside the capital.
