ITANAGAR, Jun 24: Mayor, Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) Tame Phassang today lodged an FIR at Itanagar Police station against a fraudster for hacking his Facebook account and asking money from his Facebook friends.
Mayor informed that this morning he received a call from a friend about a message on Facebook messenger from the Mayor’s account asking money for some emergency work. "The fraudster shared his bank account details too. Hearing this I promptly asked the friend not to transfer any amount and collected all details about the fraudster."
Phassang further urged the public not to fall prey to such scams and avoid responding to such messages. "We often hear about such scams on social media, but today they used my account too to dupe innocent people," he said appealing people to be wary of phishing messages on social media.
