Tawang, Dec 4: At least four houses were gutted in a fire accident at Zero point in Mangnam village, this morning.
The fire was so intense that nothing could be rescued as the inferno devoured the houses with attached shops.
Local MLA Jambey Tashi reached the accident site and provided instant relief assistance to the victims. Expressing shock over the fire accident, Jambey directed the Lumla administration to provide all relief assistance under government norms to the victims without delay.
Lumla ADC Tashi Dhondup, CO Nawang Thutan and SDMO Nima Tashi also rushed to the spot to supervise the rescue operations.
According to a statement by Lumla SDMO Nima Tashi, the cause of the fire couldn't be ascertained. "There were no casualties as all the houses were unoccupied at the time of fire. Timely volunteering by SSB Lumla and the villagers helped to tame the fire and from spreading farther", he informed.
