ITANAGAR, Jul 6: Green Arunachal Foundation (GAF) has expressed concern over the silence meted out by both the state and the central governments on the repeated helicopter crashes in Arunachal Pradesh.
While condoling the lives lost in chopper crashes in the state, GAF urged both the central and the state governments to maintain transparency and let the people know the reasons of such crashes.
Further , recalling history ,GAF asserted that Arunachal Pradesh has witnessed crashes where former Education Minister Dera Natung lost his life in 2001, followed by the then Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu on 2011, Deputy Commissioner Tirap Kamlesh Joshi on 2016 and the recent crash on the 4th of July this year in Papum Pare district. GAF stated that the government has all through these years fooled the people citing inclement weather and hilly and inaccessible terrain as the root cause of such fatal air accidents.
