ITANAGAR, Sep 17: In a memorandum addressed to the Education Minister, the Arunachal Pradesh Colleges’ Forum on Tuesday has demanded the removal of the engineering wing from the state’s education department terming it unnecessary when the state government has already several Engineering departments.
“It is observed that rampant corruption and malpractices are going on as well as the wing is proving a burden on the state exchequer too. There is also no positive outcome by the engineering wing of education department. So far it failed to implement several projects,” it alleged.
The forum also demanded the creation of teaching and non-teaching staffers against various newly created government colleges in the state citing lack of teaching staff. On top of it non-creation of posts is hampering the academics progression of students, it added.
Furthermore, it also highlighted the shortage of classroom furniture and other infrastructure requirement in government colleges across the state.
