ITANAGAR, Jul 17: Former Minister of State Mekup Dolo passed away today after prolonged illness.
Wife of former deputy chief minister Kameng Dolo, late Mekup Dolo represented 8 Bameng Assembly Constituency in East Kameng District from 1999 to 2004. She was Minister of State for Social Welfare, Women and Child Development.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu in his condolences message to family, friends and well-wisher of late Dolo, prayed for the peace of the departed soul.
He also prayed for strength to the bereaved family to bear the great loss.
Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) while offering his condolences said "In her passing away, the State has lost one of the meritorious women legislators of the State. She positively contributed to the wellbeing of women and children in the State."
I join my people of Arunachal Pradesh to pray to the Almighty God for eternal peace for the departed soul and fortitude for the members of the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss, the Governor said.
State Assembly Speaker Pasang D Sona in his condolence message, said, "I am deeply saddened by the news of the passing away of Mekup Dolo, former MLA and wife of former DCM Kameng Dolo. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family in this hour of grief."
