ITANAGAR, Sep 15: All Arunachal Pradesh Forest Workers Union (AAPFWU) has  urged the Chief Minister and head of the Forest department to release their salary within the first day of every month and immediately ban authorization system to release  salaries in the department.
 Addressing the reporters at Press Club, President AAPFWU Lindum  Bagap said "Due to delay in the release of salaries, casual workers under the Forest department have to face many problems. Many a time representation has been submitted to the head of the department but the problems remains the same."
 Stating that monthly authorization system to release salaries put more delay in the process, the APFWU urged the Chief Minister to lift the system or make it half-yearly or yearly like  is the case with other working department to avoid such delays.
Due to delay in the release of our meager salary, we have to struggle lots especially during the pandemic, said General Secretary AAPFWU –Tana Sangam. In the first wave of pandemic, we didn't receive our salary for 90 days that was one of our toughest time. Moreover, two members also lost their lives without getting their salaries during the pandemic, Sangam said narrating the hardship faced by their members. Chief Secretary has already issued an order to release the salaries on time, but despite such order we are still facing hardship to receive our meager salary, added the General Secretary.

 Meanwhile, AAPFWU has threatened  to resort to strike if the authority fails to respond to their demands.
