Ziro, Jan 8: In a major haul, the patrolling team of Hapoli Forest Division on Tuesday seized 30 carcasses of wild birds and animals from the Abotani market shed of Hapoli.
The seizure was made from a woman hailing from Charbia village of Kra Daadi district. The team was led by Deputy RFO Talo Dibo and a case has been booked under relevant sections of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 under Schedule IV along with applicable sections of the IPC.
Later, the carcasses were disposed off in presence of DFO Koj Rinya, Senior Veterinary Officer Kime Gyati, RFO Ngilyang Tachang and members of the Arunachal Pradesh Birding Club.
DFO informed that Forest Division is carrying out raids to curb unlawful activities of such kind and appealed the local people to refrain from hunting and purchasing wildlife meat. Dipro
