ITANAGAR, May 3: The Forest Department has dropped its proposal to build Forest Museum inside the IG Park, informed Save Arunachal Save Indigenous (SASI) during a press conference on Wednesday.
Chairman SASI Romjir Rakshap informed that in April, the organization had submitted a representation to the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF) appealing to scrap its proposal to build Forest Museum cum Forest Martyrs Memorial at IG Park failing which they had threatened to call democratic movement in front of the PCCF office.
A letter received from PCCF today stated that the department has dropped its proposal to build the said infrastructures inside the park premises.
“We are not against the development of Forest Museum cum Forest Martyrs Memorial, but we are against its construction inside the park," he said adding, that it will disturb the nature and lone recreation park of the state capital.
