ITANAGAR, Jul 27: In a tragic incident, one Bengia Sibi, a local labourer working under BRO/GREF in Kurung Kumey district was buried alive in a major landslide in the intervening night of July 27.
The incident occurred at around 1.10 am when a flash landslide triggered by incessant rains washed away a temporary tent house where the deceased was sleeping, carrying him down a gorge causing his death. The BRO/GREF authorities could learn about the tragedy only in the morning when labourers started gathering for daily detailing.
The location of the incident is reported to be at 33 km Camp between Koloriang and Damin in Kurung Kumey district under 21-Koloriang AC.
