ITANAGAR/ DAPORIJO, Sep 4: Amidst the standoff in Ladakh, reports are coming in from McMahon line that five Arunachalee youths serving as porters for the Indian Army have been abducted by the Peoples Liberation Army (PLA) of China on Thursday last.
As per locals sources, all five porters are from Nacho Legislative Assembly  Constituency of Upper Subansiri District. A  WhatsApp message has also surfaced on social media that five persons were abducted by the Chinese army at “Sera 7” area near McMahon line. The message also claims that the boys were from Nacho  administrative block and  have been identified as Tanu Bakar, Prasad Ringling, Ngaru Diri, Dongtu Ebiya and Toch Singkam.
‘We have received information from our village people that my brother along with four others have been abducted by the  PLA near McMahon Line,’ said  Prakash Ringling, the elder brother of Prasad Ringling.  My brother was part of 36 people serving as porters  near the China border that took at least 12 days of foot march to reach a place called Sera-7 where the incident happened,  added Prakash  while informing that villagers received a wireless message from Indian security personnel about the incident.
“ I appeal to the state and central government to take immediate initiative to  bring back   all the five persons safely  including my brother who have been allegedly  abducted by the PLA,"  urged Prakash while speaking to Eastern Sentinel.
However, when contacted Director General of Police,  RP Upadhayaya, informed that as of now  his office hasn't received any information about such an incident.
When inquired, Deputy Commissioner Upper Subansiri Kento Danggen stated ‘There is no report of abduction of Arunachalee people by the Chinese as mentioned in your WhatsApp message.'
"I visited Nacho today in connection with physical verification of a project and had lunch in the Inspection Bungalow with the local administrative officer. Nothing on the matter as apprised by you came up. I returned to Daporijo at 8 PM and came to know about it now only," stated the DC in response to a query. Earlier on March 19 this year, a 21-year-old man was abducted by China's People's Liberation Army from Asapila sector near the McMahon line in Upper Subansiri district.
