TEZU, Jul 12District Rehabilitation and Drugs De – addiction centre (RDDC) established at Zonal Hospital, Tezu today discharged ten de-addicts, who have earlier undergone ten days treatment in the centre.

In a simple ceremony held today at Hospital Auditorium, another 10 addicts suffering from various types of substance abuse were enrolled as second batch of RDDC.

Meanwhile, DMO, Dr S Chai Pul who has been initiating a proactive step in this endeavour said the task of functioning RDDC is a herculean task.

“We do not have sufficient doctors, nurses or funds to run the centre still the outcome of first batch is encouraging”, DMO added

During our ten days camp we subdued behavioral syndrome through medication but to avoid relapse or shifting of addiction regular meditation is need of the hour, the DMO advises the outgoing person.

SMO Dr S Towang expressed contentment over the way the addicts followed every rule & routine resulting in positive rehabilitation and suggested them to live a drug-free life for better tomorrow.

Recalling his two decades of experience in drugs – de-addiction camp, Dr S Nayil DRCHO said that relapse and shifting of addiction is common after rehabilitation camp.

However he pointed out that if the person is mentally determine and have strong will power, he can  defend themselves and if Rajyoga meditation is practiced then it becomes easy for them to get rid of addiction.
