YINGKIONG, Apr 24: At least four dwelling houses were reduced to ashes and three partially damaged in a devastating fire that broke out in Sumsing village under Geku Circle of Upper Siang at around 4:30 pm on Friday.
Although there were no casualties, the fire damaged properties including traditional beads and ornaments estimated to be several lakhs of rupees. EAC Geku Olom Panggeng informed that the exact cause of fire is yet to be ascertained. Local MLA Er. Kanggong Taku rushed to the spot and distributed relief material including CGI sheets to the affected villagers and assured them to extend all-possible help for rehabilitation.
The ZPC of the district, ZPM Geku, EAC Geku and other senior officers also visited the site and assured to extend necessary help to the affected families. DIPRO
