PASIGHAT, Oct 14: A financial literacy camp was organised on Wednesday at the Village Dere (Community Hall) under Mebo Sub-Division by Lead Bank Manager RC Patir under the initiative of the East Siang District Administration.
Addressing the villagers, the Lead Bank Manager informed about various people-oriented schemes such as Kishan Credit Card, Prime Minister’s Jeevan Jyoti Yojana, Prime Minister’s Mudra Yojana, Deen Dayal Swalamban Yojana etc. He said that the objective of the programme was to create awareness among small and medium scale entrepreneurs on various loan schemes for becoming self-dependent. The gathering was also apprised about the precautions to be taken while doing net banking, ATM and mobile banking transactions.  Mebo Rural Bank Manager Jabir Ali informed about the facilities available from the bank and explained the available schemes in detail. During the interactive session, participants clarified their doubts regarding opening of saving accounts, insurance schemes and banking services etc.  
East Siang Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kinny Singh while appreciating the effort, urged the people to remain aware about government schemes and use them for deriving optimum benefits. DIPRO
