YUPIA, Jul 15: A meeting of District Health Society on National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) was conducted at DC’s Conference hall, Yupia today to discuss and review the performance of District TB Forum Committee and District TB Co-morbidity Committee of Papum Pare District.
While chairing the meeting the Deputy Commissioner Papum Pare, Pige Ligu emphasised upon proper strategies to fight and reduce TB in the district before 2025 and said that effort to fight TB should be systematic and result oriented.
He called upon all stakeholders to renew and reactivate TB elimination programme in the district with fresh vigour and to provide refresher courses to all ground level workers including Health and Wellness Officers of all Health Facility thereby coordinating with concerned administrative officers to traced out the numbers of TB patients in the district up to December end for compiling a comprehensive report to chart out a well coordinated mitigation plan.
Responding to the plea from Oju Mission Chairperson Ratan Anya, the DC also directed DTO to activate DOT Centre at Oju Mission for greater benefit of patients at Oju and nearby areas.
Chairperson of Oju Mission, who also spoke on the occasion extended her full support to District Health Society to eradicate TB and stressed upon the need to generate mass awareness among people through door to door campaign.
Earlier, Dr.P.D. Thongchi, District Tuberculosis Officer gave Power Point Presentation on National TB Elimination Programme(NTEP) performance and informed that as per record TB cases are decreasing in the district. ADC(Hq), DMO Dr. K. Perme and all programme officer attended the meeting.
