ITANAGAR, Jun 9: Home Minister Bamang Felix today conducted an interactive meeting with all traffic police personnel and traffic wardens of Itanagar and Naharlagun here at his official  bungalow to receive  ground level feedbacks necessary for framing a comprehensive traffic management mechanism for lessening traffic woes plaguing the twin capitals.
As many as 110 traffic personnel and traffic wardens led by SP Capital, SP Traffic, SDPOs and OCs of police stations of the twin capitals were present in the meeting. Felix while appreciating the efforts put by the traffic maintainers said that the task is getting more difficult due to an ever increasing traffic volume as well as traffic rule violators and opined that a full proof mechanism is necessary in this regard. The Home Minister directed SP Capital to prepare a detailed plan on effective traffic management in twin capitals and submit to him at the earliest, besides stressing on getting tougher against traffic violators.
One of the traffic police narrated the daily chores which they unfailingly perform from dawn to dusk, braving scorching sun, dusty environment, rain, wind and all sorts of climatic adversities. He said that in spite of the fact that these take a heavy toll on their health, they remain steadfast to their motto of keeping the capital traffic moving and free of accidents. Another traffic warden while narrating his woes said that getting abused is an everyday feature with occasional manhandling from public too.
A visibly moved Home Minister, hearing their grievances assured that he would do all that is possible, besides boosting their morale. He further appealed the people of the state, especially the dwellers of the twin capitals to cooperate with  traffic personnel to create a better tomorrow. HM Press Release
