ZIRO, Jul 5: Home Minister Bamang Felix today inaugurated the newly established Police Station in  Yachuli, a long-felt need of the people of the area.
Dedicating the police station which has been housed in one of the unused forest guest houses, Felix said that establishment of the police station will facilitate better banking infrastructures as police security is one of the most important requirements for establishing ATMs and banks. Terming the Yachulians as peaceful people, he said that only 72 police cases in the last five years is itself a testimony to the peaceful existence of the area’s people. “Our police personnel posted here will endeavour to build a stronger relationship with the people and counsel the youths,” the HM added, while appealing all for unified efforts to make Arunachal drugs-free by 2022. "Starting from Home, 31 police personnel involved in drug rackets have been arrested, 2 terminated, while 29 remain suspended," Felix informed while reiterating the seriousness of the state government to eliminate the menace. "I appeal to all responsible citizens of the state to come forward and inform us of any suspicious movement and help us nab the peddlers. The identity of the informants will be kept secret," he assured.
Education Minister Er.Taba Tedir expressed gratitude to the Home Minister for functionalizing the Yachuli PS and thanked the Divisional Forest Officer Ziro, for donating the building and land for further construction of the permanent building. While highlighting the developmental initiatives he informed that the defunct age-old Tago and Mai Hydel plants have been repaired, along with commencement of electricity supply to the nearby areas. To ensure 24 hrs uninterrupted power supply in Yachuli AC, a 3cr. transmission line from Hoj has also been approved for commissioning, Tedir informed. "The Upper Yachuli area has always been backward in terms of education and infrastructural development. As per record there is only one doctor as an officer from this area. To bridge the gap and provide the children better educational facilities, a Rs 36 cr Model School has been sanctioned for Upper Yachuli," the Education Minister divulged. Speaking about the prevailing Covid pandemic,  
he appealed the PRI members, GBs and BJP karyakartas to motivate the people to get vaccinated and assist the medical department to make Yachuli a 100 % vaccinated constituency.
DGP R P Upadhya called for assistance from all informed citizens of the state to assist the police for uprooting the drug menace."So far, we have arrested more than 400 people in connection with drug peddling and consumption and a huge amount of contraband materials have also been seized," the DGP informed.
