TAWANG, Apr 21: The three-day Annual Conference of Superintendents of Police and Commandants of AAPBn/IRBn concluded today here at the Kalawangpo Convention Hall.
Home Minister Bamang Felix attended the concluding ceremony as chief guest. Addressing the police officers Felix said that the decision of conducting annual SPs conference across the state was taken in the last edition and hopefully the next one will be convened in one of the districts of Eastern Arunachal. Raising the issue of drug menace, he said that one of the key challenges of the Home department is to save the state’s future generation from the menace. However, he expressed concern over various government employees succumbing to the addiction. Referring to the voluntary disclosure timeline, Felix said that no excuse will be entertained after the end of the period. Expressing satisfaction over the good team work shown by APP, he said that all personnel in the force, right from the constable rank to the top are equally important for smooth and coordinated functioning. During the three-day conference police officers had the opportunity to share their ideas and views which will now be forwarded to the higher authorities. The Home Minister directed the officers to review the present COVID-19 situation in their respective districts and work as a team with the SPs, particularly in border areas where points of entry are located. He also instructed the SPs to form an exclusive team for fighting the drug menace and take into confidence the Community Based Organizations in the efforts.
Earlier on the day, State DGP RP Upadhyay apprised Felix on important matters discussed during the conference. DIPRO
