Nodal Officers asked to chalk out tree plantation, beautification plans for 2021

Itanagar, Sep 23: Home Minister Bamang Felix in a meeting here at the Conference Hall of the ICR Deputy Commissioner on Wednesday urged the Nodal Officers of the 20 wards of the ICR under Hamara Arunachal Abhiyan (HAA) to dedicate themselves for at least one year for the greater cause of the state in general and the capital in particular.
The meeting discussed the activities to be incorporated in HAA ahead of its one year completion on October 2 next. Stressing on united efforts to efface the bad name earned by the state capital as “one of the dirtiest cities”, Felix said once the city is transformed into a safe, clean and green place, the rest of the districts would follow suit. Talking about the pandemic, the HM said it has exposed the reality that Arunachal is a consuming state and not a producing one and highlighted the significance of Nutritional Kitchen and Cluster Farming initiatives of the state in quest of self-sufficiency.
While stressing on incorporating activities for the betterment of ICR like massive tree plantation, solar lighting, drainage, security and beautification, Felix asked the Nodal Officers to submit plans for plantation of one lakh trees and beautification for 2021 by December 31 next. He also informed that packets of seeds containing 16 varieties would be distributed in each ward for cultivation in kitchen gardens by the denizens.
ICR Deputy Commissioner Komkar Dulom gave an overview of the activities conducted by the HAA members. In-charge Capital SP Jimmy Chiram lauded the HM for taking the lead and guiding the people through HAA. DIPRO
