Roing, Jul 15: The formation of Farmers’ Producer Groups (FPGs) was finalised and an interaction programme of FPG members with the Empowered Committee Members under Agri- Horti Cluster Farms was held today at the Musup in Jia village under Lower Dibang Valley district. 
The road map to implement Agri-Horti Cluster Farms was discussed with the FPG members and Empowered Committee Members.
Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom informed the gathering about the two schemes of development of Agri-Horti farm clusters and 2000 nutritional kitchen gardens for each Assembly Constituency, which have been approved by the state government to promote ‘vocal for local’. 
She stated that women have been identified and encouraged to be the development agents in implementing the schemes. Priority is being given to women SHG members in beneficiary selection, she added. She also appreciated the efforts of SHG members in supporting the government functionaries in implementing the schemes as per the timelines set.

BMM (ArSRLM) William Lahary informed about the status of FPG formed in Jia village being 6 with a total of 113 beneficiaries. He appreciated the zeal and willingness of the FPG members in implementing Agri Horti Cluster Farms in their village.
PD (DRDA) Oling Lego explained in detail about the 2 schemes with the main objective being to make our state self sufficient (Atma Nirbhar) especially in regards to vegetable production. DPO Marto Dirchi, ADO Toktil Modi and HDO N. Tayeng also addressed the gathering.
The FPG members of various SHGs also shared issues and challenges regarding agriculture activities. They put forward questions to clear their doubts and confusions on the implementation of Nutritional Kitchen Garden and Agri Horti Cluster Farms schemes.
