ITANAGAR, Apr 4: An On Farm Trial (OFT) on value addition of Orange Peel was carried out successfully for 3 months by Nane Taga, Subject Matter specialist (Home Science) at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Papum Pare. Orange peel powder was prepared from waste orange peel as one of the value added product of orange peel. In her study she trained farmers about tremendous health benefits of orange peel. Orange peels are rich in flavonoids, like hesperidin and polymethoxyflavones (PMFs) and otherphytochemicals, which contributes many of their health benefits. In her study she tried to find out farmers overall acceptability of orange peel powder by using 9 points hedonic sensory scale and it was found that 100 per cent of the farmers respondents from Kimin and Karsingsa  area liked the orange peel powder.
