ITANAGAR, Mar 14:  The All Shi Yomi District Students Union (ASYDSU)  and family members of Tapor Pullom organized a peaceful dharna demanding immediate intervention of the central government to initiate  talks with the Chinese counterpart for the early release of Tapor Pullom (54) who was abducted by the PLA  near McMahon Line, Monigong in 2015.
Speaking to reporters, Daughter-in-Law of, Amoni Diru Pullom said that since 2015 they are trying their best to bring Tapor Pullom, who was allegedly abducted by the PLA near Taji Boge area of Monigong Village in Shi-Yomi District.
She said the family members earlier went to the Chief Minister's Bungalow to meet the CM  but was asked to get an appointment first. "Now we are clueless whom to approach to get the appointment. However, effort is being made by the district students union for the same," she added.
“My family is financially not sound and is not in a condition to organize a series of rallies and dharna. Therefore, I appeal to the state government to respond to the matter as soon as possible,” she said, also appealing to the state media fraternity to continue flashing the reports in their respective news channels and papers for wider reach.
While hoping that the appeal of the distressed family is being heard by the state government, Meme Pullom, daughter of Pullom said that she had no idea about her father’s abduction as she was young back then.
" I also appeal to the state government to bring back my father. We have no clue about the existence of our father and therefore appeal to the central government to intervene in the matter,” she added.
Meanwhile, General Secretary ASYDSU Jura Diru said the issue goes way back to the year 2015, and the union was just formed in the year 2019. Even so, the union believes that the CM will intervene in the matter and accordingly meet with the family members in days to come.
The union wants the matter to be placed before Prime Minister Narendra Modi through  CM Pema Khandu so that the whereabouts and the existence of Pullom are made certain, he stated.
The dharna was also joined by the All Memba Students Union (AMSU) and Adi students from the capital complex along with the family members of Pullom.
