YUPIA , Sep 28: Family members of a 12-year-old Class VII student of Don Bosco School, Doimukh, who died in school, staged a protest outside the Yupia court premises on Monday, demanding justice and a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
According to the family, Tarh Keke Lele was found unconscious in the school premises and was subsequently taken to Doimukh Hospital for medical attention. She was later referred to the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS), where she was declared dead.
The family has raised concerns regarding alleged injuries and bruises found on the child's body and has called for a detailed and impartial investigation into the circumstances leading to her death. They have also sought intervention from the state government to ensure that the case is investigated thoroughly.
An FIR has been registered at Doimukh Police Station under Case No. 109/26, and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to investigate the case.
As per information provided by the family, eight individuals, including the school's principal, headmaster, a teacher, hostel warden and hostel cook, have been arrested in connection with the case. The exact allegations and roles of those arrested are subject to the ongoing investigation.
