ITANAGAR, June 29:  Arunachal Electronic and Digital Media Association (AEDMA) led by its President Migom Toko and General Secretary Sangge Droma today met the ICR Superintendent of Police, Jimmy Chiram and submitted a cybercrime-related FIR.
The AEDMA President informed the SP that the personal Facebook page of its general secretary has been hacked on June 20 last and now the hacker is misusing the page by uploading vulgar content that has not only degraded her image but also causing mental harassment. “The motive of submitting the FIR is to request the police to book the culprit as per IT Act and to thwart the hacker from making any further damages as well as to create  awareness about the rising cases of cybercrime in the state,” the AEDMA President said. “We are thankful to the SP for giving us time and assurance to try the best to locate the hacker. Moreover, we have also urged him to conduct a joint workshop in creating awareness on rising cybercrimes,” he added.

The AEDMA General Secretary informed that his personal FB page was hacked by an unknown person followed by uploading of inappropriate content. Till now my Facebook account is safe but the page I am using for personal blogs has been hacked, she informed while requesting the users to report the page and avoid clicking any links or sharing any data with unknown persons to stay safe from getting hacked.
Expressing concern over the rising cases of cybercrime, the ICR SP informed that his team will try its best to locate the hacker and extend all-possible support to stop such tech crimes. “Cracking such cases is a bit difficult but not impossible and we also should take extra care about our social media accounts to avoid such situations,” he said.
