DEOMALI, Feb 26: In yet another success in curbing extortion activities here in the township, Tirap Police on Wednesday nabbed two extortionists red-handed while they were extorting money in the market in disguise of NSCN (IM) cadres.
This was informed by SP Tirap Kardak Riba. The duo have been identified as N. Henkhey from Paniduria village and M. Pansa, a resident of Longkai village. As modus operandi they called their targets using their mobiles identifying themselves falsely as belonging to NSCN (IM). 
Acting on the input from sources, Tirap Police started tracking the numbers along with a strict technical/human surveillance mechanism. On Wednesday the duo were finally arrested from Deomali market. Both the sims they were using for extortion, suspected extortion notes and a diary containing the phone numbers of businessmen and government servants of Tirap district were recovered.
A case of extortion has been registered against both and investigation is going on. DIPRO
