Naharlagun, Jun 14: Social worker Aini Taloh, Ramesh Jeke and Mepe Ete were the recipients of the first 'Golden Donor Card' launched by the Health department to honour individuals who have voluntarily donated blood 26 times and above.
Furthermore, individuals who did exemplary services in the field of voluntary blood donations within the Capital complex area were also felicitated namely Mepe Ete, Mimon Doke, Chi Kadu, Dr. Sandip Bannerjee and Dhruba Jyoti Bhuyan. Blood Centres across the state too felicitated blood donors who set examples by their contributions. 
The felicitations marked World Blood Donor Day observed by the State Blood Transfusion Council in collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh State AIDS Control Society and the state branch of the Indian Red Cross Society today at the RKM Hospital, Itanagar, with the theme "Give Blood Share Life". 
Attending the programme, Secretary Health and Family Welfare, P Parthiban 
lauded the State Blood Transfusion Council for improving Blood Centres across the state and increase in the quantum of blood collection in the State. He stressed that more voluntary blood donations are required to meet the actual need.
Addressing the event, Dr Joram Khopey, Deputy Director,  SBTC  spoke about development and future strategies of blood transfusion services in the state. On behalf of State Blood Transfusion Council, he thanked all the voluntary blood donors and Blood Centre staff of the state for their dedication and contribution in saving lives. He sought the cooperation and involvement of Community Based Organisations in blood donation drives in the state on a Pan Arunachal mode.
TRIHMS Blood Centre Medical Officer, Dr. Tashi Paleng presented guidelines on Voluntary Blood Donation.
President Galo Welfare Society, Spokesperson Adi Bane Kebang, team from CRPF Senki View Chimpu  including students and others participated in the event. A good number of voluntary donors also turned up and a total 24 unit of blood was collected on the day.
