PASIGHAT, Jun 29: 37th Pasighat West MLA Ninong Ering today handed over a cheque of Rs 101900 to the victim of the Mikong fire tragedy in a small event held in the village under Bilat Circle of East Siang district.
Referring to the assessment report on loss of properties, Circle Officer, Bilat, Tashi Dorjee Bapu informed that the unfortunate fire incident in Mikong village gutted down a SP-style house causing loss amounting to lakhs. “The relief amount is just an immediate assistance from the government to the victim in the rebuilding process,” the CO said. Ering appreciated the villagers who came forward at the time of need and constructed a house for the victim. "I hope the same humane approach and assistance shall continue in future too," he added, while assuring to help the victim in all-possible ways. He has also requested the administration and line departments to help the victim in fulfilling the basic necessities like temporary water facilities etc.
The said house was completely gutted on June 22 last following a devastating fire. Although there were no casualties, losses amounted to several lakhs along with destruction of important documents.
