REMI, Mar 26: Gram Panchayat meeting was held to discuss development of villages with all basic infrastructures under Ruksin subdivision on Wednesday. The meeting was convened by the 37th West Pasighat MLA Ninong Ering in his private residence at Remi village today which was participated by the EAC and CO Ruksin John Modi and Rupir Siboh respectively, all the Gram Panchayat members and Gram Chairprsons and host of officers and leaders. The meeting discussed in detail about the development works to be taken-up during current fiscal in the areas under the jurisdiction of these rural local bodies. 
Addressing the gatherings, MLA Ering said Constitution of India mandates the Gram Panchayats (GPs) to prepare and implement Gram Panchayat Development Plan for economic development and Social Justice by converging/integrating all such programmes of Panchayat, State and Centre within their geographical area and therefore as local governments, GPs are responsible for the delivery of basic services to local citizens and address vulnerabilities of poor and marginalized sections of the population. This can only be achieved through implementation of well thought out plans through efficient and responsible utilization of resources available at the disposal of the GPs and by expanding the resources to meet their priorities.MLA Ering acknowledged the dynamic leaderships of visionary CM Pema Khandu and DyCM Chowna Mein who also want planning process from ‘Bottom To Top’ to bring development into reality in the state. He emphasized that the members being connected to the public at the grassroot level, have the potential to provide the best possible results by working for the community as a whole.  
Prioritizing Health, Education and Communication in addition to Drinking Water, Electricity, Agri-Horti, Fisheries etc the MLA urged the GPs to formulate and prepare practical and long term beneficial schemes for rural areas encouraging participatory planning process at the grass root level. They should ideally match people’s needs, basic services and their aspirations, prioritized in accordance with the available resources. Taking privilege, the MLA exhorted the unemployed youth to equip themselves with employable skills by properly utilizing the capacity development programmes being organized by the government with the help of private agencies.
