PASIGHAT, Jul 17:

 

As a part of its continuous efforts, DC Tamiyo Tatak, who is also the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) today reviewed preparedness to tackle unpredicted disaster and natural calamities and asked all the stakeholder departments to be fully prepared to act as per the existing disaster management plan of the district.

 

To further step-up the District Disaster Management Plan, Tatak instructed the team of sub-divisional officers to give top priority to all human settlement areas during the process of assessment of vulnerable and disaster prone areas in their respective areas. They must ensure that human settlement in vulnerable zones nearby river banks, landslide and flood prone areas are safe. People residing in risk prone zone may be asked to shift to safer places protecting lives and properties, reiterated Tatak.

 

Earlier, DDMO G Tsumo briefed about the existing plan and action to the house. Among others, DSP A Taying, MEO (PMC) A Koyu, ZPC Kaling Dai, CC(PMC) KalingDoruk, ADCs and admin officers, EEs(PWD, RWD,WRD)etc were present in the meeting.
