ITANAGAR, Sep 26:  The Eastern Naga National Government (ENNG) strongly condemned the  intimidation on  the  Tirap, Changlang and Longding (TCL) districts MLAs and Ministers by the NSCN ((IM)  after the deletion of the word "Naga" following the bill passed by parliament recognising  Tangsa, Wancho, Nocte, Tutsa and Ollo in the scheduled tribe list.
In its press statement, ENNG claimed that , it was a constant demand of the TCL people over the past decades because earlier due to lack of proper schedule tribe recognition, the TCL youths had to face many difficulties in UPSC Examination and other central job avenues. And the previous status as Schedule Tribe under "Any Naga tribe" didn't serve any purpose.
‘The people of TCL are largely known as the Naga tribe. The Tangsa, Wancho, Nocte, Tutsa and Ollo are sub-tribes under Naga tribe. This is similar to the existing state of Nagaland where there are several tribes like Angami, Ao, Sema, Lotha,Chakesang, Konyak and so on and there are Tangkhuls in Manipur state but they have always been a Naga tribe.
Terming the pressure upon their MLAs and Ministers of TCL as unacceptable, ENNG stated  that threatening the innocent leaders of the region is pointless rather NSCN (IM) should discuss the matter with the Prime Minister. The organization strongly urged the NSCN (IM) not to create a misunderstanding among the peace-loving people TCL .
Arunachal Civil Society (ACS) has also strongly condemned the “Government of Peoples Republic of Nagaland’ or NSCN for interfering in the internal matter of Arunachal Pradesh. The recent letter of GPRN directing the MLAs of Tirap,Changlang & Longding to withdraw their support from the Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein government is totally condemnable. Whether it is NSCN or any other UG groups operating from outside the state, they  have no any right to interfere in the internal matter of the state neither in political nor in social issues, stated ACS Chairperson -Patey Tayum .
Moreover, ACS also condemned the GPRN and its extremist group for directing Panchayat leaders and Chief of Villages of TCL areas to attend meetings at Dimapur. “They should not forget that Arunachal Pradesh gave them shelter on humanitarian ground when they were running for their lives in an operation. So they should not take advantage of it and must keep themselves away from interfering in any internal matters of Arunachal Pradesh.
