This was informed through a press note released today by the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Arunachal Pradesh. The objectives of EVP are to verify electors’ details including all corrections inclusive of photographs and authentication of entry as well, if required. Along with these, there will be collection of details of family members and verification of entries, removal of entries of shifted and dead electors, enrolment of un-enrolled citizens and necessary related details. GPS coordination along with smart phone would be used to provide better electoral services.
State CEO office has also informed that electors can verify their details through “Voter Helpline” mobile app, NVSP portal or by visiting the office of the Electoral Registration Officer. They can check, authenticate and verify their details online in five easy steps viz. logging  in to www.nvsp.in with EPIC number, verify the name, DOB, gender, relation type/name, address and photo and in case of error or change in details/photograph, mention the correct information and upload any one of the ID proofs and submit mobile number and email id for further services. In this regard, following documents can be used as ID proof for authentication- Indian passport, Driving license, Aadhar, Ration card, Identity card for Government/Semi-Government officials, Bank passbook, Farmers ID card, PAN card, Smart card issued by RGI under NPR, latest water/telephone/electricity/gas connection bill for that address, either in the name of the applicant or that of his/her immediate relation like parents etc.
Through this verification process, electors will enjoy a host of benefits such as permanent log in facilities, regular SMS based information/alerts and personalised contacts with BLOs/EROs. What’s more, during elections, all election related information will be sent to the registered mobile numbers and email ids and a family living together will be grouped at one polling station.
