ITANAGAR, Mar 26: Officials from the Directorate of Higher & Technical Education (DHTE) as part of annual inspection of the state’s higher educational institutions covered Eastern Arunachal from March 22-25.
The DHTE team was led by its Director Dr Tayek Talom joined by officers and officials. At Wangcha Rajkumar Government College in Deomali, the visiting team inspected the ongoing construction activities of the girls’ hostel funded under RUSA. Satisfied with work progress, Dr Talom directed the executing agency to complete the remaining part in time so that it can be utilized from the new academic session. At Rang Frah Government College in Changlang the team inspected the completed boys’ hostel and found its quality and construction specifications satisfactory. While inaugurating the Smart Classroom in the college, the DHTE Director exhorted the students to be studious. Deputy State Project Director, RUSA Minto Ete emphasised on maximum utilisation of RUSA funds and appreciated the Principal and RUSA Coordinator for successful implementation of the project. He also underscored the need for the teachers to be IT savvy.
At Indira Gandhi Government College, Tezu the team inspected the ongoing construction progress of separate washrooms for boy and girl students, cafeteria, administrative block, commerce block and internal road and found them to be satisfactory. A one-month timeline for completion of the administrative block was given to the executing agency. At JT Government Model Degree College, the DHTE team inspected all the completed and ongoing projects and directed the executing agency to complete them in time maintaining required quality and construction specifications.
The team also inspected the construction sites of Model Degree Colleges in Kanubari, Longding and Piyong, Namsai and Engineering College at Tezu funded under RUSA. Although a slight delay in work progress was noticed, quality was found to be satisfactory. Dr Talom requested PWD, the executing agency to adhere to quality and project specifications.
