ITANAGAR, Jun 15: A video conference chaired by Minister Education, Cultural Affairs etc. Taba Tedir attended by all the DDSEs and Principals/Headmasters/Vice Principals of schools was held here from the State Secretariat Conference Hall on Monday.
Detailed discussion was held on various issues like reopening of schools, teachers’ attendance & posting, status of textbook arrival, shortage of subject teachers, status of joining of the newly recruited teachers, conduct of CBSE examination for the remaining papers, re-examination of the academically weaker students, preparations for the International Yoga Day, SOP awareness on Covid etc. The meeting was attended by Secretary (Education), Director (Secondary Education), Joint Director (Elementary Education) among others.
Minister laid emphasis on proper and judicious use of available resources of ISSE and stressed on developing the kitchen gardens for encouraging self-sustenance. Secretary (Education) laid stress on improving the performance of the academically weaker students of Classes IX and XI and simultaneous conduct of the CBSE Board examination maintaining the SOPs like social distancing, wearing of masks etc. Most of the districts reported that they had received the NCERT textbooks which will be distributed to the students for home study. It was also informed to them that online classes are being telecasted daily from Monday to Saturday through Doordarshan (SWAYAM Channel) (7 am to 1 pm for Classes IX-XII) and through Doordarshan Arunprabha Channel (9:30 am to 11:30 am for Classes VI-VIII).
23 DDSEs actively participated in the video conference and presented their statuses. It was instructed to them that the CBSE exam centres currently functioning as quarantine centres must be identified within June 16 and necessary correspondence with the CBSE Regional Centre should be made so that students need not have to travel far for attending exams.
All the DDSEs appreciated the initiative and assured to work harder for the betterment of the state’s education sector. DIPR
